A Colombian journalist travelled to the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic to meet the Sahrawi people, who have endured more than five decades of displacement from their homeland.
Originally published in Spanish by Revista LATE and translated into English for Issue #4 of Translator, this reportage explores the history, daily life and political struggle of a people living in exile, far from the land they claim as their own.

Daniel Wizenberg — Director and co-founder of LATE, established in 2017. Journalist and political scientist. He was part of RUIDO Photo and is an editor and co-founder of Revista LATE. He is the author of two books, Los que esperan and Corea: Dos caras extremas, and has conducted environmental investigations supported by the Pulitzer Center in the Amazon rainforest and the Arctic. His work has appeared in The Guardian, The New York Times, El País, Página/12, El Mundo and France 24. He has also worked as a consultant for IWPR, Survival International and Journalismfund Europe.
